World 8 Ball Pool Championships
DPT are proud to announce that they have been chosen as the Official Table supplier for the World Professional 8 Ball Pool Championships.
The Championships will be held at the South West Snooker Academy, Gloucester from the 23rd – 28th October 2012. The main events will be the World 8 Ball Pool Championships with a first prize for the champion of £10,000 and a total prize fund of £24,000 with the final stages being televised on Sky TV.
There will also be a second event running in conjunction to the main event, the World 8 Ball Pool Open – this event will have a £4,000 prize for the winner and a total prize fund of £12,000. This pool festival will be run over 5 days and will also include a World 14/1 Championships and the World speed pool championships.
World Professional 8Ball Pool Championship:
• Tue 23 Oct K/O last 156 – best of 13 frames
• Fri 26 Oct Quarter Finals (Sky TV) – best of 15 frames
• Sat 27 Oct Semi-Finals (Sky TV) – best of 17 frames
• Sat 27 Oct Final (Sky TV) – best of 19 frames
World Open Championship:
• Wed 24 Oct last 156 – best of 5 frames / 3 sets
• Sat 27 Oct Quarter Finals – best of 7 frames / 3 sets
• Sat 27 Oct Semi-Finals – best of 7 frames / 3 sets
• Sat 27 Oct Final – best of 7 frames / 3 sets
World 14/1 Championship:
• Tue 23 Oct Qualifying heats – (from) first to 101 balls / 3 sets
• Fri 26 Oct Quarter Finals
• Sun 28 Oct Semi-Finals
• Sun 28 Oct Final
World Speed Pool Championship:
• Wed 24 Oct Qualifying heats
• Sun 28 Oct Last 8 finals
All IPA members (International Professional Pool Players Association) Professional and semi professional players have been invited to the event. All IPA players will receive immediate entry to the seeded stages of the World Championship.
The World 8 Ball Championships and the World 8 Ball Open will be open to all cues sports players!
Professional status will be deemed, either by recognition from a domestic or international association or by qualification in the heats leading up to the Festival.
